Adobe Connect Upgrade

Meeting@PennState will be upgrading Adobe Connect to version 9 over the holiday break.

On December 26, 2012, between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, Meeting@PennState will be upgrading the Adobe Connect servers to version 9.

Participants in sessions should see few if any changes with the new version of Adobe Connect. Presenters and Hosts will see some enhancements, specifically related to recordings, screen sharing and the Q&A pod.

For a briefer summary, below are the highlights Ag Sciences users will want to keep in mind.

Meeting Recordings

  • Meeting Hosts will have the option to pause and resume recordings.
  • The recording index has been enhanced to allow customization with chapters and bookmarks, making it easier for users to advance to specific points in a recording.
  • Pods will be able to be hidden from recordings.
  • Participant names will be able to be made anonymous (user 1, user 2).

Share Pod

  • Participants will have the option to select their view for the Share pod. Choices will include Scale to Fit or Zoom In.
  • Presenters will have the option to force all participants into a Full Screen mode, during screen sharing.
  • Participants will see the presentation full screen and will not be able ‘toggle’ back to see the Chat and other pods.
  • Hosts will be able to hide the title bar of the Share pod (using Pod options).
  • Viewers of the recording will have a Full Screen viewing option.

Q&A Pod

  • Presenters will be able to send messages to selected individuals in the Q&A pod, allowing broadcast to the entire room if needed.

 Poll Pod

  • A new Short Answer poll question type will be available.
