New employee's in the College of Ag Science should apply for two accounts. The first is a Penn State "Access Account" and the second is a College of Ag Sciences' "AG" account. The Access Account is used to access Penn State online resources like Adobe Connect webinars and the e-data reporting system. The AG account is used for College resources like SharePoint login, AG computer login, and College Exchange email.
SharePoint is the collaborative work space for groups in the college. A person must be given permission to login to specific SharePoint sites by being added as a member. Members must have a College of Ag Sciences AG account.
These steps should be followed if your office has hired a short-term, wage payroll employee that needs access to College of Ag Sciences resources.
With the arrival of summer comes the arrival of summer program assistants and interns in Extension offices. To help these employees be successful, the College of Ag Sciences IT group is ready to create AG and, if needed, Exchange accounts for them. AG accounts will allow logon access to computers in your office and connection to the appropriate shared folders on your server. Additionally, summer program assistants and interns may also use Exchange for mail and calendaring, if requested.
The Ag IT eNews is a biweekly newsletter from the staff of Information Technologies. The newsletter covers a range of topics from many sources with a focus on college technology news, maintenance suggestions, trainings, How Do I tips and new technologies.
