When a computer is powered on but is not being used, the computer is using unnecessary power. A computer that is idle for extended periods of time can be placed into a reduced power state called standby, sometimes known as sleep. A modern computer placed in standby uses about the same power as when it is turned off, which is between 4 to 25 times less power than when it is powered on and idle. All computers installed by Ag IT will have options (Auto Power On and Power Profile) enabled to save energy.
If you have a computer that you remotely access and that is entering standby mode, follow the instructions below to remotely wake the computer.
