Install Updates to Adobe Flash Player
Adobe Flash Player is a software product from Adobe Systems that can be used to create and view animations and movies using computer programs such as a web browser.
These steps are written for Internet Explorer on a Windows computer. Your account on the computer must be an Administrator to follow these steps. If your account is not an Administrator and are using a College of Ag Enterprise Network computer, you can submit a Help Request to have the update applied for you.
Note: As of April 9, 2013 the current version of the Adobe Flash Player software is version 11.7.700.169. To see what version of Adobe Flash Player you have installed, you can visit the Flash Player Help / Find version page. If this version is current, you can stop now. If this version is Flash Player 11.6.602.180 or earlier, please complete the remaining steps.
- Close all open applications.
- To update to current Adobe Flash Player version, go to http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
- UN-CHECK any extra toolbars that are offered. Example: Google Toolbar.
- Click Agree and install now.
- Follow on-screen steps to install.
Note: If asked to choose your Update method for future Adobe Flash Player releases, choose Install updates automatically when available (recommended).
Note: If the Adobe Download Manager tells you that the installation failed, click Close Download Manager. Proceed to step 6 anyway. You will likely see that the installation was successful. - When the installation completes, you should see the current version of Flash Player (11.7.700.169) displayed on the screen.
NOTE: If you still see the older version (Example: 11.6.602.180), close all browser windows! Then re-open and go to the About Flash Player (http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/) page again. It should show the current version. If not, go to How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control and download the Adobe Flash Player uninstaller. Follow the steps to remove Adobe Flash. Then go back to the Player Download Center and install the new Adobe Flash Player again.
