Add Multiple (Bulk Edit) Addresses to Barracuda Whitelist or Blacklist

The Barracuda SPAM & Virus Firewall 400 is an integrated hardware and software solution that eliminates Spam and viruses from your email. The Barracuda SPAM filtering service was implemented July 12, 2010 on the College's Exchange server managed by Ag IT.

The Barracuda Spam Filtering Service Frequently Asked Questions page describes in detail the functions of the Barracuda Quarantine Inbox. This How To focuses on adding multiple email addresses or domains to the Barracuda Whitelist or Blacklist.

Proper Address Format for the Whitelist or Blacklist

Barracuda expects email addresses to be in the format of username@domainname. Examples: vcv1@psu.edu, redcross-email@usa.redcross.org. You can't have addresses in this format vcv1@psu.edu (Vince Verbeke). You must use just the email address by itself.

Barracuda expects Domain addresses to be in the format of domainname. Example: LISTS.PSU.EDU.

You can build / collect your list of email addresses in a Word file. The list must be setup as a single column of addresses separated by Returns. You can't use a comma-separated list of addresses for example. The list would look like this:

vcv1@psu.edu
agcompsupport@psu.edu
ntv1@psu.edu

You can build / collect your list of email addresses in an Excel file as well. In this case, the addresses can all be in a single column within Excel. If you want to generate a list of addresses from an existing Outlook folder, follow the steps in How To Export Email Addresses from an Outlook Folder.

Note: Please be warned that duplicate values are not allowed in the Bulk Edit: New Email Address window.

Once you have your list of Email addresses, you are ready to proceed.
