Faculty and Staff Insurance

GeoBlue Travel Health Insurance

Penn State now has a blanket policy with HTH covering all employees traveling abroad on university business. While enrollment prior to departure is not necessary, it is highly recommended that employees log in and review plan benefits before traveling.

Employees will be able to download and print an HTH Geo-Blue ID card, review plan benefits and search for qualified providers and facilities in the destination by visiting the Geo-Blue website.  Employees will not be charged anything for this insurance plan as the University has arranged for coverage for all faculty and staff traveling internationally for University purposes or on University business.

Employees can register online at the GeoBlue website.  When registering, please use group access code: QHG9999PSUBT.

For additional information, please download GeoBlue PDF here.

Executive Assistance Services

In addition to the GeoBlue insurance, the University purchases “Executive Assistance Services” for all employees traveling overseas, from ACE Worldwide. This provides personal assistance services 24/7/365, anywhere in the world, to help employees and their companions who travel overseas and have legal and/or personal emergencies while on University business.  Services include assistance in many other legal and professional services. Please note that this is NOT medical insurance coverage  – this is personal assistance when encountering a crisis or emergency while on University business.  These services are automatic and employees are not required to pre-register for nor purchase the services. The following link allows employees and companions to print a wallet card with important contact information about these services: ACE Executive Assistance Wallet Card.

Additional information on faculty and staff travel insurance can be found at the Office of Global Programs and the Office of the Corporate Controller.

Student Travel Insurance

International health insurance is provided through HTH Worldwide Insurance to all students who are enrolled in a Penn State Education Abroad program. This is a comprehensive insurance plan that provides a wide variety of services for students abroad, including 24/7 emergency assistance.

For information on coverage, cost, and enrollment process, please visit the Office of Global Programs Health Insurance Abroad page.

Safe travels!
