SUMMARY OF IEEE’S SINCE 1999

Each spring and summer, the College of Agricultural Sciences offers a variety of short-term academic international experiences connected to specific course offerings.  A short term experience can be anywhere from seven to 21 days in length.  The courses offering such embedded international experiences and the destinations vary from year to year.

Every year, between 60-140 students participate.  However, as these programs gain in popularity, it is anticipated that these numbers will increase yearly until approximately 250 students a year seek embedded programs.  Students interested in participating in short term opportunities should watch the on-line AgSci Student Newsletter for announcements, beginning in late September/early October.  As these gain in popularity, there is the possibility of fall break and winter break study tours being added; these would be advertised in late spring for the following year or very early fall.

Faculty members interested in coordinating a short term abroad experience embedded in a course should get in touch with Ketja Lingenfelter, ketja@psu.edu, Study Abroad Coordinator, College of Agricultural Sciences, to learn about PSU policies relating to international student group travel and possible sources of funding.

Below is a listing of past, current, and planned future offerings.
