Workday: Time, Attendance, Time Off

Effective January 1, 2018, all time, attendance, and time off is to be recorded in Workday, Penn State's new HR and payroll system.
  • Staff Non-Exempt: Use Workday to request time off and to report hours worked.

  • Staff Exempt: Use Workday to request time off and, when applicable, to report hours worked during a campus closure or on a holiday.

  • Staff Exempt Extension Educators: Use Workday to request time off and, when applicable, to report hours worked during a campus closure or on a holiday. Please visit the Extension link to review additional information regarding time worked and paid time off.

  • Manager: As a manager (direct supervisor), you have the responsibility of approving your direct reports' time worked submissions and time off requests. These approvals must take place prior to your unit's established payroll deadlines.

  • Tech Service: Use Workday to request time off and to report time in and time out.

  • Part-Time Non-Academic: Use Workday to report time in and time out. You will no longer use paper timecards, Labman, or other internal time-tracking systems.

  • Part-Time Earning Time (formerly HR05 Earned Time): Use Workday to request time off and to report time in and time out. Additional information is available on the University's HR Policies web page.

  • Full-Time Academic and Postdoctoral Scholars/Fellows: You do not log time.
