Appropriate actions must be taken to protect identification by redacting the entire social security number on the copies of the clearances.

Employees at University Park are required to to present the original clearances to our HR Office that can be copied for auditing and record-keeping purposes and stored in a locked filing cabinet.  Originals are returned to the employee.

Penn State Extension employees not located at University Park are required to present their original clearances to their District Director, who will make copies and sign each copy as verification they viewed the originals.  Those signed copies are to be sent to our HR Office for auditing and record-keeping purposes and stored in a locked filing cabinet. Building a Safe Penn State: Reporting Child Abuse Training

Employees working with minors are required to complete the training prior to beginning work with minors.  On going training is required and must be completed on an annual basis.

Employees who do not work with minors are required to complete the training within 30 days of their start date.  On going training is required and must be completed every 3 years.

Training is available through The Learning Resource Network LRN (Cornerstone OnDemand).  Training for employees with access accounts (which includes all full-time employees and some part-time) is available at: LRN.psu.edu

Training for employees without access accounts (which includes some part-time employees) is available at: compliancetraining.psu.edu

For those without Access accounts, there are several important items to note:

  • Part-time employees and those who previously created a username and password in Skillport should not create a new account in Cornerstone. All records have been transferred over, except for passwords
  • If they remember their username, they can use the “forgot password” link to create a new password
