The Office of Research and Graduate Education is accepting nominations for the Paul Hand Award for Graduate Student Teaching Achievement. The purpose of this award is to recognize graduate students who are excelling in classroom teaching. All graduate students advised by College of Agricultural Sciences faculty are eligible.
Evans Family Award for Graduate Extension Achievement

Faculty couple endows graduate fellowship in rural sociology

A $250,000 gift from two Penn State faculty members promises to enhance graduate education in rural sociology in the College of Agricultural Sciences. Leland Glenna, associate professor of rural sociology and science, technology, and society, and his wife, Esther Prins, associate professor of education, established the Luther R. Glenna Graduate Fellowship in Rural Sociology in memory of Glenna's father, who died in 1975 at the age of 47.
Penn State hosts 19 National Science Foundation graduate researchers

Penn State is hosting 19 new National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program recipients for the 2015-16 academic year. The students join 62 prior recipients continuing in the University’s graduate degree programs in the Eberly College of Science and the colleges of Agricultural Sciences, Earth and Mineral Sciences, Engineering, Health and Human Development, Information Sciences and Technology, and the Liberal Arts, as well as the Intercollege Graduate Degree Programs.

Gift will help stimulate sensory science graduate studies

A new endowment in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences will leave a good taste in the mouths of graduate students studying one particular aspect of food science. Gregory Ziegler, professor of food science, has pledged a total of $25,000 to establish the John and Jane Ziegler Graduate Award in Sensory Science.
Faculty, staff, graduate students reminded to renew 'Ride for Five' passes
June 11, 2015
Ride for Five mass transit passes will expire on July 1 for any graduate students, faculty or staff who prepaid only through June 2015. Pass holders who wish to extend the use of their Ride for Five pass must visit the Parking Office at 1 Eisenhower Parking Deck before 5 p.m. June 30.
Graduate School Commencement

Richard Roush, the dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, served as the keynote speaker at the Graduate School’s spring commencement ceremony at University Park. The ceremony was held on Sunday, May 10, 2015, in the Bryce Jordan Center.
