Turfgrass research endowment named in memory of Stanley J. Zontek

Earlier this year, the U.S. Golf Association, the golf turfgrass industry and the Penn State turfgrass program lost a friend and colleague, Stanley Zontek. To honor his contributions to the golf-turf industry and his love for the University, Pennsylvania Turfgrass Research Inc. and Penn State have named a new endowment the Stanley J. Zontek Turfgrass Endowment.
Alumni endow Hoffman DeGrandi scholarship in College of Ag Sciences

Penn State alumni Gloria DeGrandi-Hoffman and Richard F. Hoffman, of Tucson, Ariz., want young people to have the same educational opportunities that helped them become successful. That was their core motivation in creating a new scholarship in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences.
Normans establish scholarship for Penn State animal science students

Duane and Roslyn Norman, of Fulton, Md., have established an undergraduate scholarship in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences to support students who are enrolled or who plan to enroll in the Department of Animal Science. The H. Duane Norman and Roslyn W. Norman Scholarship in Animal Science will be offered to an undergraduate who has an interest in dairy cattle breeding and genetics and/or who has excelled in the 4-H dairy program.
Wendell and Carol Hunt endow scholarship in College of Ag Sciences

Students in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences will benefit from a new scholarship created by a gift from alumnus Wendell Hunt and his wife, Carol, of Waymart, Pa. They have committed $50,000 to endow the Wendell and Carol Hunt Trustee Scholarship, which will assist students who have financial need.
Student named to receive new scholarship in memory of fallen alum

A student in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences will be the first recipient of a scholarship created to honor the memory of Wildlife Conservation Officer David L. Grove, who was killed in the line of duty in November 2010.

Students in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences will benefit from a new scholarship created by a gift from Philip Ray Cook, of Loysville. He has committed $50,000 to endow the Philip Ray and B. Joyce Cook Family Trustee Scholarship, which will assist students who have financial need.
