Gift from ice cream company supports pollinator research

Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream (Haagen Dazs) recently pledged $50,000 to create the Pollinator Research Endowment in the College of Agricultural Sciences. This endowment will support the Department of Entomology’s programs related to honey bee and native pollinator research.
James F. and Marilyn L. Tammen honored with plant pathology endowment

Dr. James Tammen and his wife, Marilyn, are being remembered and honored with the creation of the James F. and Marilyn L. Tammen Memorial Endowment for International Plant Pathology. Continuing his passion and support of students' international experiences, colleagues, family and friends of Dr. Tammen pledged $25,000 to create the endowment.

Alumnus makes first gift through Penn State's Charitable Gift Fund

University Park, Pa. -- Earl K. Harbaugh, 1961 alumnus of the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State, and his wife, Kay L. Harbaugh, recently made the first leadership gift to the Penn State University Charitable Gift Fund (PSUGF), which will benefit the University and other charitable organizations.
Dudeks' $2.5 million gift to benefit Penn State students and research

University Park, Pa. -- Several Penn State academic units will benefit as the result of a gift from the future estate of Penn State alumni Frank J. and Janet Glasgow Dudek. The couple has committed approximately $2.5 million to create endowments in support of scholarships and fellowships, graduate and faculty research, and laboratory enhancements in the College of Agricultural Sciences, the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, the Eberly College of Science, and the Institutes of Energy and the Environment. The endowments will be named for the donors in recognition of their generosity.
