Forest Science
The Forest Science minor is offered for students who wish to seek employment or achieve a basic competency in forestry without qualifying as professional foresters.
Requirements
Students must complete a sequence of 13 credits in prescribed courses and 6 or more credits chosen from applied fields of study. Most of the courses employ a mixture of lecture and laboratory instruction. A grade of C or better is required for all courses in the minor.

The student must select 6 credits of supporting courses (3 credits must be at the 400 level) from the following list:

- FOR 416 Forest Recreation
- FOR 440 Forest Economics and Finance
- FOR 455 Remote Sensing and Spatial Data Handling
- FOR 470 Watershed Management
- FOR 475 Principles of Forest Soils Management
- FOR 480 Policy and Administration
Students may select other supporting forestry courses with the permission of the Forest Science faculty.
Procedures for Enrollment
Students may apply for admission to the Forest Science minor by submitting an Entrance to Minor Form in 114 Forest Resources Building. The approval of the student's major program adviser is also required. For additional information, contact the School of Forest Resources at 814-865-4237.
