Forest Science
Our Forest Science major isn't just about forestry. It's about nature and science, environment and research, conservation and the quality of life, business and leadership.

In our technological society, professional foresters are challenged with managing renewable natural resources and improving the quality of our environment. They are concerned with the availability of clean water for people and industries, timber for construction, pulpwood for paper production, wildlife and parks for recreation, and trees to beautify landscapes.
This Society of American Foresters–accredited major provides students with four options to choose from: Forest Biology, Forest Management, Urban Forestry, and Watershed Management.
Why major in Forest Science?
You may choose this major if you have:
- an ethical concern for natural resources and an appreciation of nature
- an analytical mind to cope with complex biological systems and with complex economic, financial, and social problems
- creative ability for solving technological problems
