Penn State Total Compensation Statement

Posted: November 6, 2013

Did you know that Penn State offers its faculty and staff a statement that outlines their salary and benefits as well as the cost of those benefits for a calendar year?

Penn State is proud to offer its faculty and staff a competitive total-compensation package. This statement is located in the Employee Self-Service Information Center (ESSIC) and outlines your salary and benefits, as well as the cost of those benefits, for the calendar year.

Each January your statement will be updated to reflect the previous year’s information. If there is a specific benefit that you would like to discuss, please contact the Office of Human Resources.

Instructions on how to locate this statement:

  • Log into ESSIC with your access ID and password
  • Click on "Total Compensation" on left hand side
  • You will be able to see a summary of benefit contributions by both Penn State and yourself for:
    • Medical
    • Dental
    • Vision
    • Social Security
    • Retirement
    • Life Insurance
    • Long Term Disability
    • Accidental Death & Dismemberment
  • You will see your total benefits, gross income for that year, and total compensation with both Penn State and employee contributions.
  • Additional benefits that Penn State offers you as an employee are also listed at the bottom; e.g., EAP, tuition reimbursement, travel, wellness programs, technology, professional development, recreational facilities, etc.

Please check out this very important information, which is intended to summarize the value of your compensation and benefits provided through Penn State.  This statement is not a guarantee of continued benefits or incomes, nor may the statement be construed to constitute a contractual obligation to provide such benefits.

I hope you find this information useful.  Please send me any questions or comments through the Web form on this page, or e-mail me directly at clb45@psu.edu.
