Student Activities Report

Committee Members:

Daniel Foster (Chair)

Marvin Hall
Clay Swackhamer, Undergraduate Student Rep.

The Student Activity Committee enjoys assisting in selecting which of our many great student organizations can take advantage of the financial resources made available by the office of undergraduate programs. We are very grateful to the leadership of our undergraduate education programs for acknowledging the importance of these experiential education activities.

Student Activity Funds made available are split (60%/40%) between Competitive and Non-Competitive events annually.  All requests are ranked into High, Medium, Low or Deny status by the committee and then awarded a portion of their request based on the rating the request received. The higher the rating of a request the larger share of the request funded.

Total Student Activity funds made available for 2013/14 FY is $42,000

Fall Proposals

  1. Number of Proposals for the competitive category: 7
  2. Number of Proposals for non-competitive category: 3
  3. Total Amount Requested:  $27,808
  4. Total Amount Awarded: $10,936

Spring Proposals

  1. Number of Proposals for the competitive category: 7
  2. Number of Proposals for non-competitive catetory:  11
  3. Total Amount Requested: $101,756.12
  4. Total Amount Awarded:  $32.416

It is recommended that leadership explore a different classification for non-club competitive teams to apply for funding. It seems that it is not congruent to compare clubs to non-clubs.
