ERM Students and Faculty Volunteer to Protect the Headwaters of Spring Creek
August 8, 2013
ERM students and faculty, working with ClearWater Conservancy, have adopted two riparian buffer sites in Centre County. "The goal of ClearWater's Riparian Conservation Program is to improve stream quality in the Spring Creek watershed through the program’s four areas of focus: stream assessment, stewardship, restoration, and protection. The program educates streamside landowners on the role of vegetated buffers, restores streamside buffers in the watershed, and permanently protects riparian areas through conservation easements."-Clearwater Conservancy Students are involved in maintaining plantings, and ensuring the long-term success of these buffers.
