Q. What are the online Ag Science courses like?

Q. How do I sign-up for an online course?
The process depends on the type of student you are. For more information, try one of the following links:

Q. Does an online course offer the same amount of content and credit as a regular Penn State classroom course?
All of the Ag Science online courses are offered through World Campus, which is an online Penn State campus. Any courses taken through World Campus have the same amount of credit and content as a classroom course and will display on your Penn State transcript as a "regular" classroom course.
Q. How is course time scheduled?
Each course is offered during the regular semester time with deadlines for activities, quizzes, exams, etc, throughout the semester. It's up to you to schedule your time to go through the lessons, read additional material, study for quizzes and exams, and complete assignments.
Q. Does a professor teach the course or am I on my own?
A Penn State professor teaches each and every Ag Science course.
Q. How do I communicate with the professor or ask questions about course content?
Direct communication between you and your professor is done primary through email. Depending on your professor, you may also communicate in discussion forums, instant messages, and other methods.
Q. What are the system requirements for an online course?
Go to ANGEL's Recommended browsers and computer configuration page for system requirements. ANGEL also checks your computer when you log-in using the System Check component.
Q. Where do I go to access a course?
All courses are accessible on ANGEL, our course management system. ANGEL is the name for Penn State’s online course environment—an online site where you can manage your courses. When you receive your User ID and password, log in to ANGEL.
Q. When will I be able to access my course?
You will be able to view your course in ANGEL on the first day of class at 8am, EST.
Q. Where can I find tutorials for ANGEL?
Go to the ANGEL homepage and click on the question mark icon on the left side of the page. This will take you to the ANGEL Help and Information Guide.
Q. Do I need to purchase a book for an online course?
This depends on your professor. A course may require a text book and/or library reserves, web sites, pdf articles, etc.
Q. How much does a course cost?
Tuition costs vary depending on your student status and degree. Tuition costs can be found on the tuition table.
