Penn State Ag Alumni Society News

The Ag Alumni Society's mission is to connect, serve, and recognize alumni, students, and faculty by fostering relationships, commitment, and pride that characterizes our College. The society plays a vital role in supporting the college, students, and alumni programming. Alumni who graduated from the College of Agricultural Sciences become members of the Ag Alumni Society automatically by joining the Penn State Alumni Association.

Big Ten Ag Alumni Reception in Washington, D.C. on March 7

In the spirit of institutional cooperation, the Big Ten schools with agricultural programs are once again gathering our alumni and friends in the Washington, D.C. area. Join us for a special event at the National Press Club on Tuesday, March 7 and visit with the Dean of the College of Agricultural Sciences, Dr. Rick Roush and fellow alumni.

Berkey Creamery and Pennsylvania Farm Show to share anniversary celebrations

If you've missed out on the many activities celebrating the Penn State Berkey Creamery's 150th anniversary in 2015, you'll have another chance to participate in "birthday" festivities at the Pennsylvania Farm Show, which takes place Jan. 9-16 in Harrisburg.
Berkey Creamery Store to be Closed for Renovations in Early Winter

For much of winter break and the beginning of the spring semester, the Berkey Creamery retail store will be closed for major renovations to make shopping in the store a smoother and more enjoyable experience. Customers still can buy creamery ice cream, cheese and other products via the creamery's website at creamery.psu.edu.
Ag Live Tailgate 2015 raised more than $38,000 for Students

Held on November 21, Ag Live raised more than $38,000 through sponsorships, a live auction and a silent auction. These funds benefit the Ag Alumni Society Trustee Endowed Student Scholarship.

Paul J. Clifford Named 11th Chief Executive of the Penn State Alumni Association and Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations

Paul J. Clifford has been named chief executive officer of the Penn State Alumni Association and associate vice president for alumni relations for the University. He is the Alumni Association’s 11th chief executive in its 145-year history.
Five Inducted into the Armsby Honor Society

Five alumni were inducted into the Armsby Honor Society at the annual dinner and ceremony held on October 26 at the Nittany Lion Inn. The Society was created to honor alumni and friends who have demonstrated a commitment to the College of Agricultural Sciences, and to foster their continuing involvement with the college and its alumni.
Outstanding Alumni and Outstanding Recent Alumna Recognized

Four alumni were recognized for their achievements with the College Outstanding Alumni Award. Named Outstanding Alumni were David C. Ferree, of Centre Hall; Robert D. Heilman, of Henrico, Virginia; and Kenton D. Rexford, of Glenshaw. Beth Panko Briczinski, of Annandale, Virginia, was named Outstanding Recent Alumna, an award that honors alumni who have graduated in the last 10 years.
Student Auctioneer for Ag Live Tailgate

For the first time ever, the auctioneer at the Ag Live Tailgate will be a Penn State College of Ag Sciences student. Chris MacCauley, a senior majoring in Agribusiness Management from Atglen, PA will be the Ag Live auctioneer. Proceeds from the Live and Silent auctions support the Ag Alumni Society Trustee Endowed Student Scholarship.
Ag Live Tailgate Doors Open at 8:00 a.m.

Kick-off for the Penn State vs. Michigan game this Saturday has been set for Noon which means the Ag Live Tailgate doors will officially open at 8:00 a.m. and the program will begin at 8:30 a.m.

We highlighted the University's heritage as the "Penn State Farmers High School" with Penn State's original name and colors.

2015 Mentoring Workshop - Registration Open

Registration is open for the Mentoring Workshop on October 6 sponsored by the Ag Alumni Society. This is a great opportunity for students to prepare for Ag Career Day and learn about interviewing, resume writing, professional etiquette, LinkedIn, and how to get the most out of the career fair from alumni and accomplished leaders in the agriculture industry. Students can also register for a complimentary head and shoulders photograph and a four-course etiquette dinner.
