Penn State Ag Alumni Society News

The Ag Alumni Society's mission is to connect, serve, and recognize alumni, students, and faculty by fostering relationships, commitment, and pride that characterizes our College. The society plays a vital role in supporting the college, students, and alumni programming. Alumni who graduated from the College of Agricultural Sciences become members of the Ag Alumni Society automatically by joining the Penn State Alumni Association.

My name is Sarah Peterson and I am entering into my senior year at Penn State studying Immunology and Infectious Disease. I am from Robesonia, Pennsylvania, and I am the second sibling in my family that has been a part of the College of Ag Sciences. I am so excited to take on the role as this year's ag alumni intern!

The APG Support Committee hosted a webinar titled "Engaging Recent Graduates and Young Alumni." This is the first webinar in a series focused on strethening our APG's and providing online training for APG board leadership and members.

The Ag Alumni Society 2010 Mentoring Workshop has won the National Agricultural Alumni and Development Association's (NAADA) first place award in the society events and programs category.

Alumni and friends of the College are invited to join us at Ag Progress Days for the Alumni luncheon on Tuesday, August 17. The lunch will feature the Dean's "State of the College" report and the annual meeting of the College's Alumni Society. Register now!

Ag Live 2010 will be held on November 27 three-hours prior to the Penn State vs. Michigan State home football game. Ag Live is an alumni tailgate event that welcomes home our alumni and friends and also raises much needed funds for our students through a live auction and raffle.
