The Ag Alumni Society's mission is to connect, serve, and recognize alumni, students, and faculty by fostering relationships, commitment, and pride that characterizes our College. The society plays a vital role in supporting the college, students, and alumni programming. Alumni who graduated from the College of Agricultural Sciences become members of the Ag Alumni Society automatically by joining the Penn State Alumni Association.

Excellence in Academic Advising Award

Help the Ag Alumni Society recognize faculty with outstanding skills in undergraduate academic advising, career planning and personal counseling. Nominations can be submitted by alumni, faculty, students and administrators. Nomination deadline: March 29.
Ag Alumni Society Ranked Number One in Supporting Students

The Penn State Alumni Association announced that the College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society Scholarship Endowment totals of $330,111 is the largest of the 13 College Alumni Societies and is the second largest of all Affiliate Groups.

They usually respond by saying a club or organization they were involved with or a favorite place on or off campus. If someone were to ask me that same exact question, my response would be the Ag Live Tailgate event during my junior year in college.

Ag Live Surpasses Fundraising Goal for Sixth Consecutive Year

Ag Live 2012 held on November 24, raised more than $35,000 exceeding last year's proceeds by $10,000 and this year's goal by $5,000. Proceeds directly benefit the College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society's student scholarships, internship awards, and other student and alumni programs.
Agriculture Future of America Leadership Conference -- Student Perspective

From November 1-4, I spent four days in Kansas City, Missouri for the Agriculture Future of America Leadership Conference. Being selected out of the top 550 student agricultural leaders in the U.S., I was honored to attend the conference as an Ag Advocate and as a student leader in the College of Agricultural Sciences with five fellow Penn Staters. Little did I know, it would be one of the most inspirational experiences of my life and I would meet so many outstanding Ag Alumni along the way.
Alumni Honored with Outstanding Alumni Award

On November 19, Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences honored five graduates with the Outstanding Alumni Award and one alumnus with the Outstanding Recent Alumni Award. The award recognizes alumni for their achievements and provides opportunities for recipients to interact with the college's faculty, students and other alumni.

On Friday November 9, 2012, the Ag Alumni Society invited Dr. MeeCee Baker '82, '94 Ph.D. Ag Education and five students to speak on her career path and journey in agriculture. While studying at Penn State, Baker credits her professors encouraging her to pursue education to teach agriculture in the classroom.

One would say that Kirk Sattazahn is a busy guy. Sattazahn was born into the dairy business, coming from a family that managed their own farm. He had to make a choice between taking over the family dairy farm or continuing his education. He choose Agribusiness Management and graduated with a B.S. in 1994 and now is the Director of Marketing with Select Sire Power.
