The Ag Alumni Society's mission is to connect, serve, and recognize alumni, students, and faculty by fostering relationships, commitment, and pride that characterizes our College. The society plays a vital role in supporting the college, students, and alumni programming. Alumni who graduated from the College of Agricultural Sciences become members of the Ag Alumni Society automatically by joining the Penn State Alumni Association.

Amy Kraus, an animal science major from Aliquippa, Pa. has been recognized with the 2015 Outstanding Senior Award. This award, sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society and the Coaly Society, honors the senior who best balances outstanding academics, extracurricular activities, work experience and communication skills.

The Ag Alumni Society recognized Morgan Robins with the Outstanding Golf Course Turfgrass Management Student Award, a two-year professional certificate program, and Aaron Lewis with the Outstanding Forest Technology Student Award, a two-year academic major offered at Penn State Mont Alto.

Giving back to your Alma Mater can mean a variety of things to each alumni -- speaking in a class, engaging alumni or collaborating with board members to plan alumni and student events. The next committee meeting is scheduled for April 25, 2015 and includes a working lunch.

Olivia Francois, Graduate Assistant for Recruitment along with two undergraduate students, Alyssa Maxwell and Molly Cashman attended the Big Ten Ag Alumni Reception and participated in meetings with the Council for Agricultural Research, Extension, and Teaching (CARET). CARET is a national grassroots organization that is a part of the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). They also had a unique opportunity to network with alumni in Washington, D.C.
