Jimmy Frisbie, an Immunology and Infectious Diseases major with a minor in Bioethics and Medical Humanities from Waynesboro, Virginia is the recipient of the 2017 Outstanding Senior Award which is sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences Alumni Society and the Coaly Society. This award honors the senior who best balances outstanding academics, extracurricular activities, work experience and communication skills.

Jimmy's undergraduate career has been marked by exceptional achievement and recognition. He is representing the College of Agricultural Sciences Department of Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences as the Student Marshal today at commencement. His honors thesis for the Schreyer Honors College concentrated on leukemia research. In addition, he received numerous academic scholarships.

As successful as he has been academically, Jimmy has also excelled in his extracurricular activities. He has been a member of the Penn State Blue Band for four years, Drum Major for two years and was selected as the 2016 Penn State Homecoming King. Jimmy was the co-founder and treasurer for the Music Therapy Club, a service club performing for senior citizens and special needs young adults. He was also active on several Thon committees for the last four years.
