Tackle Hunger food drive to support Penn State students

Posted: November 7, 2013

Bring your donations to Ag Live on November 23 and help us Tackle Hunger at Ag Live by packing the Penn State Puller's tractor. Our goal is to collect 500 pounds of donated items. All Tackle Hunger food donations benefit Penn State's Pride Pantry.

Pride Pantry is a student run organization that helps students who are food insecure. Local food banks can't provide for university students unless they are residents of the State College Area School District, referred by Community Help Centers or The Salvation Army, and are financially independent from their parents. Pride Pantry fills those gaps by providing a few meals a week to students who can't afford it.

The Ag Alumni Society would like to offer a special thank you to the Penn State Pullers for letting us use their tractor, which won 5th place overall at the 2013 national competition, to gather our food drive donations at Ag Live. Look for them at the Snider Ag Arena!

The Penn State Pullers is a competitive 1/4-scale tractor team focused on the design and construction of a 1/4-scale pulling tractor which is entered in an annual industry-supported national competition held in Illinois. For more information visit Penn State Pullers website.
