Andy Hirneisen graduated from Penn State in 2007 with a B.S. in Food Science and a minor in German. He completed an internship with The Hershey Company, and now works there full time in the Microbiology Research and Services department. He splits his time between working in the lab testing ingredients, environmental samples, and finished products for bacteria, yeast, and mold and providing technical and troubleshooting support to the manufacturing facilities and R&D.;

He gets to travel all over the country to visit manufacturing facilities, complete audits of third party laboratories and assess bulk tanker truck wash stations. He works part time as a manager in a small café.
