This series of presentations from faculty and staff in the Penn State College of Agricultural Sciences will be hosted every month at the the Village at Penn State Retirement Community.

Speakers will address major areas of focus for the college, including food, human health and disease, globalization, sustainability, agricultural production, and more. Each session runs from 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. and will be held in the Lion's Den room.

Penn State will host the 2024 Climate Solutions Symposium on May 14 and 15 at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Organized by the Penn State Climate Consortium, this year’s two-day event will provide an immersive exploration of climate research and solutions. It will feature multiple opportunities to learn about the latest climate research from Penn State's renowned faculty; network with peers from across the globe; and explore innovative solutions for mitigating, adapting to and building resilience against climate change. Additionally, the symposium will offer time to forge partnerships with researchers, educators and practitioners dedicated to addressing climate change through innovation, education and engagement.

Penn State’s One Health Microbiome Center will host the One Health Microbiome Symposium on May 30-31, 2024, at the Huck Life Sciences Building on the University Park campus. The event will assemble experts from diverse research fields to explore the intricate role microbial communities, or microbiomes, play within and across the spheres of agricultural, environmental, and human health. The symposium will focus on global microbiome-based opportunities and challenges through a wide range of topics, including groundbreaking phage therapy for human infectious diseases and the optimization of food production through beneficial bacteria in soil and plants.
