Javier Moreno '07 Ag and Extension Education

Javier Moreno is the manager of external affairs and communications for Toyota Motor North America, Inc. in Plano, Texas. He serves as a national spokesperson and is responsible for establishing Toyota's public presence in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex through media relations, government affairs, and community relations. He also provides strategic support to the management and communications teams at Toyota Latin America, based in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Prior to his current role, Moreno served as manager of corporate communications at Toyota's North American holding company, based in New York City. He was responsible for media and investor relations, social media, marketing communications, and multicultural outreach. He was also assistant manager of corporate and product communications for the Toyota, Lexus, and Scion brands in the Boston, New York, Central Atlantic, and Southeast regions.

Moreno joined Toyota in 2005 as a Corporate Affairs intern at Toyota Motor Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc. As a member of the External Affairs Division, Moreno led company efforts in community relations, media relations, and government affairs. In 2006 he interned at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., where he worked in corporate communications and marketing, helping to launch the second-generation Tundra pickup truck.

Prior to joining Toyota, Moreno served as national president of the FFA, a national organization of more than 600,000 members preparing for leadership and careers in the science, business, and technology of agriculture. During his year of service, Moreno traveled more than 100,000 miles and to more than 40 states, meeting top leaders in business, government, and education.

Moreno is a life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and lives in Dallas, Texas.
