Lynn Dietrich '73 B.S. Agricultural Engineering

A 1973 graduate in Agricultural Engineering, Dietrich is director of engineering for Manitowoc Cranes, a major designer and manufacturer of mobile lifting cranes and related services. Previously, he was the director and vice president of engineering for crane manufacturer Grove Worldwide, until the company was purchased by Manitowoc 2002.

At Manitowoc Cranes, Dietrich is responsible for the company's engineering centers of excellence. He also works globally with the innovation and design centers to design and build lifting equipment close to the supplied markets while maintaining standardization of product, process and quality.

Dietrich is a leader in the crane industry, participating in seminars, lectures and regulation planning with various industry and government groups. These efforts result in standards and regulations for crane design and use around the world.

Dietrich is active with his alma mater. He is a volunteer and supporter of the Agricultural and Biological Engineering department, serving on the accreditation committee, supporting job fairs and hiring students and graduates for internships and full-time employment.
