Joel Myers, 1965 B.S. Agronomy, 1967 M.S. Agronomy

Joel Myers of Spring Mills, Pa., worked with the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Natual Resources Conservation Service spanning 41 years, the last 16 of which he spent as state agronomist. In that position, he served as liaison between the NRCS, other state and federal agencies, Penn State and various agricultural and conservation organizations. he developed and conducted training programs on solving soil and water-related resource problems in conservation planning; soil-loss prediction; agronomic conservation practices such as no-till planting systems; nutrient management; crop residue management; and other topics.
