We are excited to announce a successful first transitional week to AG LEAP.  Two LEAP prides sponsored by the College of Agricultural Sciences welcomed new freshmen to University Park campus last week.  Leading the AG LEAP Prides Ben Shawigen and Carrie Clark.  Both Ben and Carrie have been instrumental in building a strong network and support system for our incoming students.

After meeting with the College of Agricultural Sciences’ Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education, Dr. Tracy Hoover, and DUS adviser, Dr. Terry Musser for orientation on July 25th, the students traveled to Shaver’s Creek to enjoy a warm afternoon together.

July 28th the Ag 160S LEAP Pride toured the Penn State Poultry Science and Education Research Center.  To protect the poultry from contamination sported the latest in fashion for bio-security.  From peeps, to egg sorting, the tour gave the group an informative view of poultry research at Penn State.

The group also learned more about the plant science research on campus, touring the greenhouses on Curtain Road.  The tour facilitator, Scott Diloreto, held our attention, especially with the aqua-ponics research display.
