Kaitlyn Benson

Kaitlyn is a senior at Penn State studying Environmental Resource Management from Elizabethtown, Pennsylvania. Her minors include Environmental Engineering, Environmental Soil Sciences, and Watershed and Water Resources. Her experience with stormwater management and Chesapeake Bay issues prepared her for an internship at the Penn State Agriculture and Environment Center.

Kaitlyn’s interests lie within the realm of soil science, remediation, and restoration. She hopes to attend graduate school after her time at Penn State to study remediation of contaminated soils. At Penn State, she has been involved in the Penn State Soil Judging Team, and was a lab/field technician in the Penn State Soil Characterization Lab. She also had a summer internship with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Her long-term goal is to work with Superfund sites, and to one day work with developing countries to help with environmental issues they face.
