Planning
The College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn State has an international reputation for providing leading research, degree programs, and extension education programs. Building on the land-grant tradition, we are a leader for change and a place for students, faculty and staff to be innovators in the 21st century.
Rapidly changing and complex relationships among the food, fiber, natural resource and energy systems at the local, national and global level provide both challenges and opportunities. Our planning focuses on addressing these changing needs for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and beyond.
The future excellence of the College of Agricultural Sciences is being determined today in the decisions that we make about where resources are invested. Our goal is to assert leadership and foster innovation through organizational improvement and change.
AG Futures Process
Also, to address economic challenges from eroding state appropriations that have not kept pace with increasing costs, the college has been engaged in the AG Futures Process. As part of this process, a new College Strategic Leadership Roadmap has emerged.
